We need comprehensive immigration reform and stronger border security, but anti-immigrant rhetoric is a tactic of the feeble-minded fear-mongers of the far-right everywhere. Trump’s silly wall nonsense is more of the same. It’s a waste of taxpayer dollars and it’s not who we are.

Real legislators don’t enable anti-democratic demagoguery from a liar and fraud under serious investigation. A broken clock is right twice a day but I don’t keep it around. Even if a wall were sound policy (it’s not) Trumps motives are and always will be suspect.

We really need specificity. What does “stronger border security” mean? Until we get clear on real gaps, dangerous xenophobic rhetoric will continue to inflame & distort an issue that over the years has been strategically manufactured to be polarizing instead of problem-solved.
