At this moment, we have to support those who will provide a check on the trainwreck that is Donald Trump. I have zero confidence that any Republican can be trusted with that duty. Vote Dems for now until things improve.
We should support leaders with whom we have significant common ground regardless of party. If they will uphold the principles that protect freedom and advance policies based on truth rather than fear, then let us give them the strength to do so. Current GOP majorities in congress have undermined responses to every challenge you name in your column. While some have stood up against some of the worst excesses at times (collins, murkowski mccain on ACA repeal comes to mind)....

almost no others at the FEDERAL level have. Nor do they seem to have any realistic plan to address any of the challenges you yourself identify (broadband expansion is a good idea, but it's really not one of the hard problems we face).
