Can we not start a center right, intellectually sound Party with strict ethics rules for endorsement? Sure, we will lose for a while, but GOP needs to lose for a while anyway. They need to wander the desert for 40 years for worship of power in whatever form.

Despite accusations that they have gone far left, the Democrats ARE the Center Right Party. Don’t believe me? Look up the Republican Party platform of 1956, Eisenhower’s. He was Center-Right. Tell me which current party that lines up 90-95 % with that.

When Trump emerged on the scene in 2016 a cultural shift became permanent. After 8 years of sneering at Obama, the R party, full of bitterness, became what they used to oppose. They can’t claim Reagan’s city on hill while fueling anger & focusing on what they hate. Hate corrupts.

I became a Republican because I believe in free trade, fiscal conservatism, justice, honesty and the Constitution. I'm no longer a Republican because my beliefs have not changed.

"Real Conservatives" were never the moral center. The founding fathers we're revolutionaries, radicals and bootlegger's who never envisioned our current state as their ideal. In their time they were leftists. We have outgrown the customs and decorum of the 18th century.

Agreed. I'd have been on the English side, trying to run my small shop without being afraid of soldiers burning it down. Jesus was the biggest radical of all. I don't think I know a conservative Christian who wouldn't be appalled if they met the real Jesus.
