Of course, the simplest way to impose term limits is for VOTERS to throw the bums out. How about we fix election laws?

We have term limits. They’re called elections.

Career politicians are a big problem, but term limits could become a "good in theory" solution if not carefully implemented. The commonly suggested 6 years for House/12 years for Senate limits will eliminate experience and help lobbyists, I say 12-18 for House/18-24 for Senate.

I voted for term limits when I lived in Michigan. Mistake. The big issues get kicked down the road by lazy legislators. Any legislative institutional knowledge that you sometimes need, is lost. Term limits sound good in theory but in practice don’t work well.

Disagree. We have limits, they are called elections. Want better elections? Take the money out of them. Artificial limits needlessly cycle talent and further empower the unelected bureaucracy

With term limits, you no longer have anyone who knows and deeply loves the institution and who has its best interests at heart. You lose a sense of history and potentially the community that has distinguished the Congress at its best.

Disagree. Pushes institutional knowledge to the Congressional staffers, who are unelected and usually unknown. Work at a defense contractor; visits from staffers are a big deal because they are the people who know details.

Disagree. Presidential power has expanded so much over the last 40 years that we need experienced legislators to check the president. Think Boehner during Obama's presidency or Pelosi during the last two years of Bush's.
