With the passing of John McCain, who in the Senate will replace his principles and courage?
My condolences to the family of John McCain. His passing is a true loss for them and for all of us. I hope that his example of selfless national service, which is in the same tradition of great patriots since America’s founding, will inspire many more like him for years to come.

I’m sorry, voting for the largest tax cut in the history of America to benefit the 1% is not selflessness. Voting for Scott Pruitt is not selfless. Voting against clean water...and on and on, 83% in line with Trump.

Ok go easy on the legacy making. Good leader - yes. Effective in a limited way yes. Visionary and unifying. Not quite ( no doubt a high bar) how did he handle party over country issues? We have the record to look at. We’ll pay for the tax cuts the Iraq war and this presidency

A measure of a man is being able to respect him even when disagreeing with him. John McCain was the kind of person that ably met that. Even when I disagreed with him, I at least felt he was approaching an issue with intelligence and integrity--two qualities Trump lacks.
