OTOH: elected GOP show no willingness to engage in bipartisan work, be it immigration, healthcare, or budget/taxes. The only ones with any courage are those who are leaving office. And even those are not using their leverage to the fullest.

There must be a core of moderate elected officials (of both parties) that are willing to put
#countryfirst and work toward bipartisan goals even if it offends their party. And GOP and Democrat leadership need to learn to support such efforts. - 1 more reply

So true. You cannot be
#NeverTrump and remain in today's GOP. Clear thinking centrists and conservatives must quit the party. It can only be rehabilitated after Trump is purged. -
We need balance. Sane conservatives need to vote blue until trump is in check then make a new party and let that take the current GOP's place.

I agree we shouldn't be celebrating the GOP's demise. I'm a Democrat but recognize the importance of a strong Rep party. Moderate Republicans HAVE to stand up and resist the far-right party of Trump. Country over party! Integrity and honor over partisanship.
