History offers valuable lessons which are all to often overlooked. This is one of them, although I suspect it is too late for this GOP to recover. They have sold their soles for $$ and power. Maine will always be proud of MCS's accomplishments in the Senate.

How ironic. 68 yrs ago Senator Smith exposed McCarthys lies that communists had infiltrated the gov. Now another R pres lies about everything else, but avoids that topic, which 68 yrs ago was a lie, but now is true, because of his own invitation. Strange how the wheels turn.
