The Amy Cooper incident is a reminder that the South does not have a monopoly on anti-black racism. Many black people who have spent time in NYC, Boston or any other liberal northern city know that rejecting social conservatism is not the same thing as rejecting white supremacy.

And I want to be careful about exaggerating how much the urban north has rejected social conservatism. It might not be the Bible Belt, but “traditionalism” is alive and well in many liberal cities north of the Mason Dixie line.

I’ve heard so many things about Boston it cause me pause to ever visit.

I've heard so much about the racism in Boston, it made me afraid to go to Ireland.

I’ve experienced racism all over the country, but none as vicious as in the Midwest.

Live in far-suburban Boston, grew up in mid-suburban Milwaukee. I'm not qualified to speak, but I *am* curious which is worse (because it seems they're both pretty bad).

I grew up in the south but when I was young we spent some time in Massachusetts. My dad told me it was one of the hardest places for him. There are no boundaries for this evil.

White supremacy is what’s everywhere. And can be eradicated by fair minded White people who are willing to share power equally. It’s not out of reach.
