Because people are allowed to say what they want within the threshold of the rules on YouTube. It's known as free speech. And yes, they said some shit that's offensive but it's far from hate speech so it's allowed.

YouTube admits the language is hurtful. Hurtful language violates their ToS. Are you logical? Or do you only claim to be when you're surrounded by people with whom you agree with?

Hate speech violates the terms of service, calling someone gay isn't hate speech

Merely referring to someone as gay is not (though if they're not out, I'd argue you were treading the line), but that's not what Crowder does. And I think you know that. /1

YouTube's own policies specify that hurtful language directed specifically at an individual is unacceptable (the picture is above), and in their own commentary, they both concede that the language in such videos was hurtful, and claim that the videos don't violate their ToS. /2

Logically, both statements cannot be true. If you wish to continue this conversation, I'd be happy to do so, but in the future, I'm gonna need something tangible (like, video footage proving Crowder to be a decent human being during his shows) to merit a response. /3

Diminishment of Crowder's actions is completely unacceptable (and logically fallacious); he doesn't merely call people gay - he demeans homosexuality and links it to a weakness of character, or masculinity (ironic given how toxic his own is), or cognizance. /4

No claims of which have ever been validated by any scientific means; all of which have only ever been validated by individuals who would use the other-ing of people to pursue their own power, clomb on the backs of the ignorant followers they incite to do their bidding. /5

Usually even while those people, ignorant, but loyal, suffer in some way - economically, socially, etc. And I honestly pity those people. They deserve better. Crowder's commentary is lateral (it doesn't itself propel him up or down the social "ladder"). /6

What his commentary DOES do is attract more people, usually suffering in some capacity, to feel like they're part of an "in-crowd," as they gleefully conflate their value with his worth. They lift him up. Not bc he's right, but bc now they can point outward instead of inward.
