Unless the racism is addressed and eradicated in the places you are looking to make ‘diverse’ you are simply bringing people of color into violent and unsafe spaces.

If you're making hires & those hires are White person after White person after White person & you already have a whole bunch of White people, there's a name for that - systemic racism. And you can't claim a commitment to , , ..... or any of the words.

We are depressed, as a nation. Every day it seems I see a new statistic about a different group with higher than ever incidents of self-harm or suicides or attempts. Something is rotten. What’s making us all sick? 😔

Give me coming of age movies where black girls get to be horrible and funny like in LADY BIRD or where they get to be weird and funny like in BOOKSMART or where they get to be cute and fall in love like in TO ALL THE BOYS I'VE LOVED BEFORE

Folks who defend the college cheaters because they were just doing everything they could to give their kids a good life will condemn in the harshest possible terms people who immigrate without papers to give their kids a good life because that's breaking The Rules.

i learned early on that you can't care what these people think. because the fact is, for PoC esp Black people, it doesn't matter how many degrees we have or from where. a white supremacist society will never see us as "deserving" or even basically competent at the work we do.

i'll never forget one "friend" ticking off a list of my personal traits on his fingers. "oh, University of Chicago will love you! poor kid, black, single mom." I was in 4 AP classes, took 2 languages, was clarinet 2nd chair & was on the editorial board of a lit mag.

The juiciest, most revealing fact in the college-bribery story isn't the Hollywood celebrities. It's a guy named Bill, whose alleged involvement tells us everything we need to know about our age.
