Replicate a warm day on the beach. The feeling of sand and the tingle of a breeze. The view from atop a cliff. The force of a river carrying you through a canyon. Our best AR is comic and usually nauseating. Thermodynamics applies, even in synthetic worlds.

I didn't say every sensation and I'm repeating the argument of 19th century scholars which had nothing of which you reference. However, our replication of reality is becoming more advanced all the time. There is little doubt in my mind that a full sensory mimesis is possible.
