Which is a different matter than whether elected officials should keep talking like Trump in public life. Most of the people cheering couldn't begin to tell you why, other than that Fauci became the face of stuff they were told was soshulism and tyranny and yadda yadda.

Just today, the government restarted threatening the jobs of friends of mine over COVID vax / test requirements. This stuff was unacceptable a year ago. I don't know what adjective to use for what's *still* ongoing.

It reinforced my conservatism. Rather than “This emergency is one exception to being skeptical of government power,” it’s “This is the exact reason we should be skeptical of government power.” With all the knowledge and influence and power, they were unbelievably incompetent.
