Can't speak for anyone other than myself, though I suspect I do: my politics are basically what they are, I'm the same guy I've always been...but COVID-19, and the hatefully Left-politicized response to it throughout all levels of gov't, scarred me permanently. I won't forget.

Just today, the government restarted threatening the jobs of friends of mine over COVID vax / test requirements. This stuff was unacceptable a year ago. I don't know what adjective to use for what's *still* ongoing.

It reinforced my conservatism. Rather than “This emergency is one exception to being skeptical of government power,” it’s “This is the exact reason we should be skeptical of government power.” With all the knowledge and influence and power, they were unbelievably incompetent.
