I think the one I'd be most wary of is Red Lobster (haven't been there since I was a kid), simply because seafood is the one food item where I've found that care in preparation and quality of ingredients makes the most noticeable difference. Quality seafood really is different.

But it's funny how there are countless fancy Chinese & Thai places here in Chicago, yet I'd trade all of them for a random place in the Cook County burbs Mrsoteric's family always goes to whenever we're all together for the holidays called "Yu's." Try the Singapore Rice Noodles!

Olive Garden legitimately sucks, the other three aren’t bad at all for the price

Haven’t been to CCF or Olive Garden, thought Red Lobster was lame, but really enjoyed the meal I had at Applebees

Cheesecake Factory and Olive Garden both have items on their menu that are legitimately good. And CF is always a solid choice for large groups where their huge menu has something to please everyone.

I ate at Applebee's once and really liked it. So I insisted the family go there, and it was absolutely HORRIBLE. Never went back. Bob Evans, a disaster the first time we tried it, and they wouldn't take our coupon. Cheesecake Factory, good but $ for what you get.

Red Lobster, I guess if you don't know what seafood is actually supposed to taste like. Olive Garden, eh, had pizza there, not bad. Haven't been to Chili's, Friday's, Calif Pizza, others in a long time.
