I remember Raimondo absolutely excoriating anyone, everyone, anywhere, anytime, anyplace, back in 2003 when the decision was made to go to war in Iraq. He was vicious, nasty, and unsparing, almost certainly to his professional detriment. He was also right. And I was not.

He did mellow a bit. Once in a looooong while he even took a joke. By the end we had the occasional normal exchange. I always liked the fact that he never hid who or what he was, and I found it refreshing, even though he usually came at me in insanely personal venom.

I followed him for about a year and a half, and regularly replied to his tweets. He would sometimes like my replies and retweet them. A little over a year ago, I criticized a remark he made to John Stossel. He quote-tweeted me, saying "Blocked and muted". RIP

Sad to hear he's gone. I haven't talked to Justin for quite a while, but we always remained on polite and friendly terms even when we (typically) strenuously disagreed. The world will be a much blander place without him.

It was always kind of weird that the founder of antiwar dot com was the one person in the world who most loved a fight, but then it was so much fun to fight with him.
