Everybody loves C&H and Far Side, but the one I feel most personal, clannish ownership of is definitely Bloom County. Played a truly formative role in developing my entire sensibility, reading the anthologies beginning around age 9 or 10.

It must have. He kept doing it long after he could have quit. Clearly it was a form of therapy. And when he passed, he was beloved by millions. Not bad for a depressed kid with a big round head.
