There are some people on Twitter who self-consciously marshal their followings to go out and attack others (the platonic example was Milo, but the Chapo guys also do this with a wink & a nod). Show me some evidence that Musk is like that, and maybe you have a newsworthy story.

But if not, all you are saying is: "there are Wrong People out there who like you and tweet insultingly on your behalf." And the implied prescription from the author is "therefore you cannot publicly disagree with me." That's a cynical, cowardly attempt to forge a muzzle.

The gods of internal combustion know I'm no Elon Musk fanboy, but there's something deeply hilarious about JournoTwitter bitching over mob mentality
-
oh it's rich indeed.

It’s **amazing** the author found other like-minded victims. What are the odds?!pic.twitter.com/mCWYhztor2

Blake I’m seeing more and more right leaning tweets from you. I thought you were a liberal

. Fucking love your book. Rereading it soon. -
I don’t feel any more right (or, for that matter, left) leaning than before, but I’m mad as hell about bullshit media, political intolerance and literal examples of manufactured outrage (see: Daily Beast); can’t keep my mouth shut any more.
-
The left goes more off the rails everyday and the msm seems to be encouraging it to an extent. Poeple are starting to notice. Many rational liberals are distancing themselves from all the nonsense you describe.

I think the point to be made about this is how Musk is encouraging the distrust against the media because he has been treated badly by a couple of outlets. Someone that influential cannot be ALSO feeding this grand narrative that makes us all journalists look like the enemy.
-
The *media* creates this distrust. There have been multiple false stories perpetuated by major news orgs in the last two weeks alone.
-
Last week the media peretuated false narratives about Elon Musk, Jordan Peterson, the recently deceased YouTuber TotalBiscuit, PewDiePie, and the philanthropic MrBeast. And those are just the ones off the top of my head.
-
Basically Elon has time and again proved that he can really bring about a disruption in the market purely based on tech and innovation, and that scares the media because they've come to assume themselves to be the custodians of public opinion.
-
Legit media mostly reports facts about Tesla, both positive and negative. Without advertising Tesla depends on this for its success. Musk doesn't like reports about Tesla's real problems (production delays, financial losses, accidents with autopilot, etc.) and tars all media.
-
If the media legit reports just facts, why do they have their knickers in a twist on a mere tweet by Elon about creating a user driven rating system for news and its credibility? The reaction of journalists is amazing! They're absolutely not happy with that tweet.
-
Precisely.

I saw somebody today calling that article 'brave'. I can't stand when journalists turn themselves into the news (unless they happen to actually be an integral part of a legitimate story). It felt less brave, and more attention seeking.
-
This was
the message I got from it, too. It really felt like contrived victimhood, which is a huge disservice to those who don’t go seeking to be one.
