There is no evidence that overall violent crime is up in SF, though property crime (especially car breakins) are up and have been trending up for a decade.

Homicides are not the only category of violent crime, but, let’s say, for the sake of argument, that overall, SF has lower levels of violent crime. Does that make us safe, or even safer? Is Chesa doing a good job keeping everyone safe? I am not seeing it.
