It’s scary, it’s a lot to take in, and we’re afraid. Please, do not minimize these things. Please do not show up in our comments and mentions telling us that we’re overreacting.

Advice like “don’t feed the trolls” or “just ignore them” or talk about how it’s a small subset of assholes will not help. It just feels like you’re dismissing us.

We may be quieter than usual, or more distant, or seem like we’re not paying attention. We may be distracted or cold or have unexpected emotions today and in the coming days. This is normal.

If you want to support please keep an eye on our feeds and mentions, round up any bros that try to diminish what has happened and help us hold space for each other.

You can bring it up in person with the women in your life but don’t be surprised if they don’t want to talk about it. They will appreciate that you know what’s going on but may not have the energy to discuss.

Also, don’t do this. We’re allowed our feelings and we don’t have to hide them or minimize them for the hypothetical feelings of others. If you’re so concerned about them, go take care of them. Don’t tell us to be smaller.https://twitter.com/markbouckaert/status/988881232271433728?s=21 …

Bro here. These guys scare me too. As I was effectively an incel before it got a name, I can both empathize as well as demonstrate getting over it . (I'm available to talk.)
