My ADHD is mostly uncontrolled and I am wishing I had health insurance to get a proper adult diagnosis (was diagnosed as a kid) so I can get the meds I desperately need to function at work. My office looks like a tornado just stopped in for a visit and decided to live here.

I didn't need to have an adult diagnosis to get meds, as long as I had my childhood paperwork. Maybe try that?

I work in an Emergency Department. The constant chaos and energy surrounding my role makes me feel:pic.twitter.com/7WvqkhlW1b

I love it, and feel like I can thrive if I get clear instructions in advance. I also love when routines are predictable, or failing that at least getting a heads up when it's not going to be predictable.

are you me? same.

For me setting is key. I need to shift locations to a variety of comfortable areas (mostly coffee shops around where I live, I work from home) to get proper work done. Plus background music. Work in silence is maddening.
-
I heard that the novelty from working in different locations gives you dopamine that you start to associate with the work, making it more enjoyable

Noise cancelling headphones save me, they are always on playing instrumentals. We have an open collaborative office, and I'm the only one whose desk faces the wall; I'm not ashamed. Our team has a lot of ADHD and we like Asana, a group to-do list app so we're all on the same page

Me too! I would wear them pretty much all day! It was a great way to also ignore people at work!
