In the case of chickens I, being thoroughly
@patchurchland neorophilosophical, take it that consciousness arises principally from events in the frontal cortex. Chickens don't have a frontal cortex and .'. won't mind being killed. Also... chickens are very delicious.

Nice one. When I did the police exams a Qs was "Giant factory on fire, nobody at risk, do you save the factory or save the caged canary in the factory office" answer.. "save the canary.. life, any life, always comes first." Which is interesting. But no help in this case
