If C.S. Lewis was right that integrity is doing the right thing even when no one is watching, then the spirit of that lesson should extend to morality in general and to whether God is watching, which then extends to whether overriding moral properties exist at all.
Making the highly implausible assumption that moral error theory is false: Is it a moral failing to believe moral error theory?

When you think about it, error theorists who act morally are the most praiseworthy people of all. They wont let their moral fortitude be shaken by something like all of their moral beliefs being false.

Moral facts are just facts about the real world: no more, no less. Error theories, in as much as they are predicated on some kind of Humean cleave, are wrong precisely because these theories are terrible at describing affect and actively obscure our relationship with it.

So error theories involve engaging in and promoting a kind of "false consciousness" when it comes to our emotions. If that doesn't count as a moral failing I don't know what does.
