"Open offices are overrated":https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-p6WWRarjNs&t=193s …
I've worked in either open offices or bullpens for my entire game dev career (minus six months in a cube in 2000.) It would be cool to see how an office affects focus at some point before I retire.

These days my "office" is a desk next to my living room. It's great.
-
I have worked in several open layouts, cube farms, and offices. I am most productive by far in an office (even if it's shared with another coder), than any form of open space. My home office being the best of all, and "they" won't let me work from their as much as I'd like.

What boggles the mind, is that companies hire super expensive coders costing 6-figures and up, then they try to cut corners on real estate by cramming them into bad spaces. They should be globally optimizing for overall productivity/happiness, not locally optimizing office costs.
