The silence caused me lots of stress, pain, & grief (previously documented here ICYMI: https://medium.com/thelist/the-other-side-of-diversity-1bb3de2f053e …). So I stopped being silent.

I had to wade through mental quicksand of indoctrination, self-doubt, and stress to fully get to a place where I could be ok with leaving.

Therapy helped me navigate that quicksand. Many therapists are covered by your insurance, even if not on the provider list. Check.
