if this were to occur, what do you think would be the fallback for those who the ability to drive to/from work etc is an accessibility need?
-
they can get a pass for driving if they have an accessibility need not met by our current public transit system. what needs were you thinking of?

My fave thing about the replies to this tweet is how it shows the classism of so many perspectives on public transportation. And I would bet at least some of the folks raising accessibility grumble about waiting for folks in wheelchairs / leave scooters on sidewalks, etc.

that’s why i muted it. so many wealthy people talking about how impossible it’d be to do shit poor people do every damn day...couldn’t deal with it anymore.

I have 2 kids. I'm pro car-banning, in part due to all the times my two kids have come close to being run over by cars.

This would be great for everybody working in tech with a normal commute, shitty for all the other people in the city like musicians and contractors (who do exist).

The very small percentage of us who have legitimate needs for cars and vans can easily be excepted in regulation. We're not an excuse to hold up progress.
