i don’t like this term used in this way for the same reason i don’t like “blacks” being used to refer to black people: it’s dehumanizing. a pox on all dehumanizing language that allows people to forget they’re talking about actual human beings with actual human lives and agency.

I love this. I've been working to remove the word from my vocabulary when it comes to people. Too easy to forget you're talking about a human being when you refer to them as a "resource."

Pretty sure that’s the point - the owners don’t want to risk thinking of their “resources” as having any moral value except as a business asset.
