Is this 🦠 a challenge?
The situation in Iceland, now vertical in case rise, yet one of the most fully vaccinated countries in the world. No sequence data available outbreak.info, assuming this is d/t Delta

Iceland has about 360k inhabitants, so the graph makes it look a lot worse (in absolute terms) than it actually is (about 100 cases/day). Not sure what one should conclude from this 🤔. These might just be a "few" unvaccinated people (e.g. kids?).

To what extent have tourists contributed to the numbers in Iceland? Perhaps a large number (relative to population) of less vaccinated people, driving infection among relatively vaccinated?

Full data available on COVID.is - this is Delta variant outbreak and it comes from multiple sources outside of Iceland based on RNA analysis. About 50% of infected are vaccinated- biggest portion by J&J vaccine - Pfizer booster being given to those who got Jansen

Despite the rapidly rising infection numbers, hospitalisations remain low as does the mortality count.

The most important: number of hospitalizations and the mortality rate
Do you have these data?

This without matching severe/hospitalization data is misleading/buys right into antivax narratives about vaccine efficacy against delta.

Delta surge is just now beginning in several countries.
5 lessons learned from Israel's colossal failure to contain and mitigate the outbreak:
1. Delta cases are escalating faster than ever before. DO NOT use soft suspension as a strategy.
