why are so many people who are vaccinated still dying?

If you're over 80 your chances of being hospitalized or dying form other causes are sadly not insignificant

This plot has a very strange feature: drop of positive effect around 7th day after the 1st dose. Doesn't it show that people gets infected during vaccination (5-7days is exactly the incubation period)?
-
I think the drop in day 0-3 could be screening for symstoms before allowing into room for vaccination.

Even better and earlier response for the Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine in real life (on a one dose basis) than even Pfizer from Scottish study:https://twitter.com/EdConwaySky/status/1363806457729343488 …

Given this result I surprised nobody is talking about AZ vaccine in U S even just for select lower risk populations. How far off AZ are from requesting authorization as they already stated to CDC ACIP on Jan 21 that 80% of trial had 2nd dose complete.

The study shows first dose effectiveness after 14, 21 and 28 days vs confirmed symptomatic COVID to be <50% in over-70s. Effective yes. But strong effectiveness? After a second dose in over-80s this increased to 88% (95% CI 84-90%).pic.twitter.com/60hyGHE8tW

Is there any pre-print paper or a link to the original data? (some of us doesn't have access to WSJ)
