Ok, mRNA vaccines are very simple genetic circuits. The simplest possible, really. This is very different and warrants extreme caution.

So far safe in mice and hamsters but more work is underway to ensure safety. MRNA is transient-remember that.

@sujayaca CRISPR Cas systems evolved in bacteria as genomic defence systems (as did restriction enzymes). Such ideas like may at best be considered in rare highly lethal infections but aren’t scaleable. Better to spend our energies on better oral antivirals -
Studying “immune systems” in distant taxa have provided us novel technologies. Even Plant Immune systems are fascinating with plenty of genomic investment in innate immunity. RNA interference is used by plants as a systemic (whole plant) adaptive immunity to viruses.
