I spent the better part of 2020 using NK95 masks before allowing myself to use surgical or cloth ones... looks like I’m going back to ole’ faithful.
I use the disposable masks over the kn95 to keep them cleaner. Gotta make them puppies last for another 2 waves (one is inevitable but the next ones are because we don't learn).
terrifying. Is there anyway this isn't US (or at least regions of it) in 4 weeks? I don't see it at this point.
I can't help wondering if the increased transmissibility will effectively reduce whatever seasonal effects there are. That is - we won't be getting as much help come April as we did in 2020.
Possible but depends. It might be 70% more transmissible in an indoor environment, but if people are outdoors that could be hundreds of times less transmissible, dwarfing new strain Persistent spread in spring summer is certainly a worry but it’s by no means certain.
Yeah, I've been following those figures over the last few days. What restrictions did they have and were they taken any notice of? They must had had a hell of a Christmas.https://news.sky.com/story/covid-19-ireland-to-shut-restaurants-and-gastro-pubs-from-christmas-eve-amid-new-variant-concerns-12170174 …
It was full lockdown only essential shops pharmacy etc. It was well obeyed but the new strain has killed us
Whereever there are "more" ppl like
, those countries will see peaks like
