The other countries are a homogeneous population. America is the amalgam of multiple countries and many illegal aliens, uninsured. The graph looks very different based on socioeconomics.
Double check your data. Japan yes but the others not so much.
I wonder if the same trend would be seen if you looked at life expectancy for different age groups (say 40-year-olds)? Maybe the hit to life expectancy is driven by early life conditions, but the cost drivers are going to elderly end of life events.

Yes, increased deaths from suicide, homicide and drug addiction/overdose may be poorly correlated with the cost of access to #healthcare and traditional Rx of diseases.
Inverse relationship between higher medical spending (beyond a certain threshold) and life expectancy? Clearly, healthcare $ aren’t the main driver of health or lifespan.
