In the @AP report: "Several scientists [myself included] reviewed materials that He provided said tests so far are insufficient to say the editing worked or to rule out harm." That's not good medicine IMO, no less the absence of a published report.

Funny how academics just care about publishing. If it worked it worked no one gives a shit about publishing except those doing work were only publishing makes it important.

Disagree. The paper is where we see whether the CCR5 gene was properly edited, what effect it had at the cellular level, and whether deep sequencing showed any off-target effects. It's not just "it worked" as a binary declaration.

Agree 100% with Dr. Topol. Also worth revisiting the Mitalipov data which underwent rigorous peer review and still received strident criticism. A @YouTube video just does not cut it. Btw, what are Mitalipov’s thoughts on all this? If this is real it is pretty binary. We have all seen the data on CRISPR off targets I can't imagine it is going to be much different. Knowing that the CCR5 mutation is in cells is pretty binary. Academics just want a chance to criticize lol so old and behind the times.

Are you convinced the data are legit? Was the IRB signature forged? We know there’s a huge problem with fraudulent data in China, and this feels very promotional.
