A crazy lie is much more "exciting" than a boring fact. Trump says and does crazy stupid things so people will talk about them and amplify his craziness. Then his blind followers just parrot whatever he does because they have no self-contained morals of their own.

NBC has recently run a few where a tweet is the direct outrageous/ridiculous -ness that The Boss said, link to an article, and 5 screens down deny what he said. The Base reads only the tweet. They don't care about anyone else's opinion.

I weep for what has happened to former news organizations, which now are no better than Murdoch scandal rags or his propaganda channel. We don’t need more Fox, we need more honest journalism.
