The desire to make the issue go away is what is fascinating. Deciding that all wealth is rent seeking theft or hard won contribution is clearly an attempt to avoid a central issue. I feel strongly that the “All Wealth is Theft” & the “All Tax is theft” crowds need to get a room.

A belief which leaves no room for doubt is not a belief; it is a superstition.

I know a number of people who have gotten fabulously wealthy through entirely ethical business practices. By contrast, most of the truly unethical people I’ve known are poor or in jail. This narrative of “nice guys finish last” and “sociopaths succeed” has never rang true to me.

I don't know about "sociopaths succeed" but "nice guys finish last" is a truism. People who are nice put other peoples interests before their own. If everyone's interests come before your own, you *will* finish last. "Ethical" and "nice" are different things.

Seems pretty clear market deregulation is what not to do if you want to avoid pathological ponzi schemes
