Interesting. I would guess that the opposite has occurred in leadership positions at tech start ups in last two decades relative to exec roles in hot industries of the 80’s.

Tech startups, via rapid creative destruction cycles, have not calcified as much as institutions evolved for the mass-media/consumption era: universities, old large companies, traditional media, bureacracies.

Digging deeper: which baby boomers specifically seek those positions of power? At my university, it included a few Scientologists and at least one now famous pedophile (Dean of Students Justin Carroll). But the rumors have been far worse.
