I’ve not been commenting on Kavanaugh b/c whatever I might add is minimal. Let me be open about one thing. Mitch McConnell’s evil on Merrick Garland may have pushed us to enter the rarest of instances where costs simply had to be returned. And so we unravel. It’s just so sick.pic.twitter.com/lZJhNrGwLy

I try to be rational about politics but I’m so sickened by the modern Supreme Court confirmation process (Bork, Biden/McConnell, Thomas/Hill, Kavanaugh/Ford, etc....) that I can’t find any rational place to stand. So I think I just had very little to add. We just cocked this up.

If you are feeling disappointed in me, that’s fair in this case; this is a political/legal/human mess on so many levels that it results in complexes of problems to which I am simply not equal. I‘m just not equipped for this kind of politics. Sorry all.

Understood. The game is too complicated. Sadly, it still affects those who aren’t playing it.

Have to work hard to step back from it because I recognize in most people including myself that many people actually want the fight for what seems fights own sake. We view our lives as dramas that need villains.

Excellent point. I think we all have that in us and have to work and examine ourselves to recognize it.

I'm not disappointed, and I think that most can agree this has been a very ugly episode. I'm convinced you're of good faith and that is what is important. "Come now, and let us reason together."

This. I'd always rather rather someone be straightforward with me, notwithstanding their politics, rather than engage in some intellectual slight of hand

I don’t know. I’ve been assaulted. I couldn’t prove my case, and I knew it. I still reported it, but I never thought my word alone should be able to condemn a man. I know there’s a lot more to the politics than that, but that’s been my perspective while watching this unfold.

Sorry to hear that💕We live in a culture eager to find scapegoats. Most women and men have experienced horrible coercion and abuse at some point. We can’t make it right by putting collective anger on one unproven case from 35 years ago. That’s primitive and against civilisation.x

Thank you 💙; ultimately I ended up better and stronger because of it. (Doesn’t justify what happened, but I’m not going to be miserable just for the sake of proving a point.) I agree. This was not in any way a solution to any problem.

I completely get your points. I’ve been the victim of gross injustice too but when you’re a factual victim, you’ll only get worse by adopting victim mentality. It’s not easy but it’s the only way http://out.xxx

Yup. (I’m sorry about what you went through as well.) And the expectation that I was to play the victim role just made my life so much harder at the time. (I cope with humor, but humor on that topic “isn’t allowed.”)

I cannot bring myself to even entertain the notion that one is guilty without evidence. That’s not how America is built, and it should never be how we are. They made they accusations. They should be able to prove them. If not, what was all this for?

wtf is going on -- how is CNN publishing this thing as a NEWS STORY: https://www.cnn.com/2018/09/28/politics/jeff-flake-protesters-kavanaugh-vote/index.html … I am not following the issue very closely, but when I see stuff like this, I feel that the mainstream media's participation in this process can be described as cynical at best.

I'm feeling more disappointed in people who "just know" the truth of this matter based entirely on whether they are team blue or team red. I'm sickened that you have groups of people claiming moral authority, but only because they want that court seat to match their team color.

the fact that what someone did as a 17 year old kid (i.e. his calendar yearbook) was used against him at a "trail" or whatever the hell that was makes me sick considering kids today put everything online... the more we share the more will be used against us in a court of law

I agree the politics on both side is terrible. However- I feel there was a major line crossed by weaponizing sexual assault. As a #metoo if your aim is justice you contact the police not the media. Obstruct/ withhold info- did not serve her justice. Both were victimized by this.

As a woman observing it, this attempt by the left to weaponize #metoo has been embarrassing to watch. Initially, I felt differently, but as the case has progressed with the testimonies, lack of evidence, and surrounding political commentary, I find it cringey to say the least.

My lefty friends &others online don't even think it's important to have proof or evidence for any part of the allegations. Some have gone as far as to say that regardless if he's guilty, Kavanaugh is too controversial now. Sad day in American history if this it how we're thinking
