It does disqualify them, and I think they can't grow much bigger largely b/c of those two points. It'll be interesting to see if they jettison some of their dead weight, or stop suing/attacking any and all decent criticism of them.

What defines them as a movement is the chronicling and analysis of the sociological phenomenon that is behind the effort to quash independent thinkers for defying leftist orthodoxy. How the media, academia etc responds to them is not peripheral to their purview. It’s central.

Haven’t heard about this. Do you by chance have a link? Have listened to Ben Shapiro before and was not at all impressed. Not really sure why the likes of Sam Harris (who I’m a fan of) have defended him as being one of the “reasonable” voices on the right.
