Great metaphor. As I try to tell my friends, all news is propaganda. It has to be since it must selectively focus on what's important and in doing so injects bias. I'd much prefer the freedom to select useful biases than be spoonfed sterile, government approved corporate biases.

Bias doesn't imply propaganda. Propaganda is by definition a conscious effort to persuade (though, not necessarily through false means). Bias can often be non-conscious, and it's not necessarily meant to persuade (at least insofar as one does not view all comm as "manipulation")

I've had plenty of awful micro-brews. I seek good beer regardless of the source. I guess the same applies to information. Artisanal does not imply quality; nor does corporate imply lack thereof.
