Fellow Minnesotans, what are your favorite memories of past snowstorms and Very Cold Days? I want stories. Recent/old days/whatever you've got. (Bonus points for NOT referencing the Halloween blizzard lol 🎃❄️)https://twitter.com/EricHolthaus/status/1089625495778537478 …

Grew up near Babbitt. At -59 F Sorels freeze solid. Coke freezes almost instantly in the can. Chores still need to be done.

I'm not from Minnesota, but during the 2011 Halloween nor'easter, I preemptively charged a bunch of battery packs, then did a photoshoot with my disabled grandma to distract her while the power was outpic.twitter.com/8H8sKcPysa

I think it was 94/95 (I grew up in South Dakota) when we got a huge ice storm that covered every tree in a good inch of ice. It was gorgeous if dangerous sight.

I remember that! I also remember having to drive from Mpls back to college in Moorhead after that storm- There was some particularly serious treachery on I-94 that year.

Not Minnesotan, but after four straight days of walking to work in -35°F wind chills in Vermont, it was finally a warm morning. I unzipped my coat and took off my hat and basked in the sunshine. It was 5°F.

Ah, thanks. Sometimes I get homesick, but comparing the weather usually fixes that! I used to live in Vermont, now I live in sunny Colorado - with dozens of ski resorts within an easy drive -- It's fleece and t shirt weather down here near Denver!
