Eric, the founders crafted the electoral college so that small States would be important. That was when there were 13 States. Keep the EC.

Every time someone writes "The founders crafted" you should read "The founders suggested, argued, and finally gave up and reluctantly agreed to a compromise". They were winging it. They did pretty well, all things considered, but they were winging it.

So you want candidates to visit even fewer states and cater exclusively to urban concerns. Got it.
-
Urban concerns = concerns of 81% of US population. I’m not saying one should ignore concerns of people in rural areas but well 81% is a large majority (people vote, land does not)

I love your agenda! First gerrymandering, now electoral college... what’s next? Citizens united/campaign finance reform? Pleeeeease??? Let’s refine our democracy!

Could not agree more. I also disagree with two senators per state. CA has an enormous population compared to Wyoming. How is this equitable?
-
The house is based on population. Wyoming has 1 rep. CA has 56. The senate was designed to make all states equal. That’s the whole point of it.
