Were you taught sex ed in school? If so was it abstinence based or science based and in what state?? I was taught a science based sex ed in California

I think I was ruined by purity culture with my church and family...I know I had comprehensive sex Ed but I don’t remember too much of it now.

Not ruined so much but traumatized that I subconsciously blocked a lot of stuff out that made me feel ashamed or embarrassed and I have found a lot of it has to do with the purity culture of the 90s and 00s. So I know I had sex Ed in health, but I couldn’t tell you anything

Since it probably made me super embarrassed and ashamed for even learning about it. I didn’t wait until I got married, but this shame did affect my relationships. For some reason your question triggered me, but I swear to raise my kids in a sex positive way.
