I realize there’s no way to fix this and no one’s at fault, but it really sucks to get weekly fundraising emails addressed to my dead name from candidates I’ve never heard of because I donated to someone five years ago whose list has been countlessly sold to other campaigns.

When I set up a website for a class in the late ‘90s, I included my email. Soon, I had to change my email address because, long before gmail, there was no way to stop the spam. Only had about six people to notify of the change, so not too hard.
