      My grandmother said her parents would cross the border into the US from Mexico with no issue and that there weren't really borders back then. Half her siblings were born here and the other half in Mexico.

          My grandparents came up for a work season every year to Sacramento for many years, enough that they got Social security. The border was never an issue.
