"Stop acting like a girl" has to be one of the most destructive statements in our culture.
It punishes girls for being aggressive and it punishes boys for not being aggressive enough.

“You should smile more” is one I’ve had from total strangers (men) while walking down the street, as though I exist to please them. They wouldn’t say that to another guy.
