Why isn't just the same standard of respect, honor, and regard for all people? The minute a certain person or group thinks they are of a higher standard, here come the problems of superiority, entitlement, abuse of power, etc.
The higher standard is to ensure they do not abuse their power. It is above the normal expectations of conduct set forth by the law.

Cops, teachers, prosecutors, therapists, etc. are not sent down from some heavenly higher pool of ethical and moral humanity than other people. & as soon as that truth is accepted equally in our rights, due process, and accountability, the further along our American Experiment
