Tom Cotton is crazy! But on a different note, do you really think military people want to do this? No. Military people aren’t mindless killing machines. They are our neighbors too and now they are being put in a no-win situation.
They gave an oath to follow all lawful orders. Killing unarmed American citizens or anyone unarmed for that matter is not a lawful order.

Follow “lawful” orders. Killing unarmed people is not, so they don’t have to follow it. But they can show up, they can guard property, they can even support citizens. The Tennessee National Guard supported the protesters (as an example.). They aren’t evil.
