At 22 I had my first child. I was a sergeant (E-5) in the Marine Corps and had already did 2 deployments to Iraq. I qualified for WIC, so that means the 4 ranks below me also qualified, which make up more than 1/2 the military. We love vets and the military but pay them crap.

Yeah, USMC deployment cycles...hubs was combat-deployed six times in seven years. 12 years after the last one, there are still consequences. It’s too much, period, but even worse with horrendous pay.
