That is an interesting journey. It sounds like mob mentality, even cult like. Follow the rules you will be welcomed and loved. Go against them and you will be attacked. Not to get too personal but have you tried therapy for this, it sounds like it could have left damage
It definitely is cult like, especially when they won’t leave you alone after you block them. Therapy has been instrumental in moving forward.
I must commend you for not only seeing what you were apart of but actually having the courage to leave it. Indoctrination is never easy to leave behind and even scary.
