I raised three kids in a household with several guns. We took the kids out to the desert and shot a rabbit, took them to that rabbit and showed them, this is what that gun does, it is NOT a toy. They learned.
Most do not do that, this case being an example. Several things are dangerous if not properly handled. Proper training and safety make worlds of difference, and apparently rabbits

I think it's due to hands on teaching, it takes the mystery out of the gun. Too many people keep their gun hidden, a secret. If there is one thing kids of all ages can't resist it's finding parents secrets! It frustrates me, you're a parent, teach your kids!!
