People most likely to ignore symptoms of flu (or coronavirus) and continue working lack: 1. sick leave, 2. good health insurance, 3. unemployment insurance, or 4. eligibility for food stamps, Medicaid, or public assistance unless they work. In other words, most Americans.

So we are set up for failure in this situation. Every news organization should be posting preventative measures people can take.

Maybe if the incompetent administration provided some measures for the news to report, it would be done.

Many news outlets are doing that. It would be more effective if the occupant wasn’t a complete dolt, took science seriously and didn’t cut CDC $

You’re so right! Just shows how much we CANNOT rely on him. Let’s all just realize this government is not the guiding light to our American health. We’re on our own, supporting each other as best we can. 😭💪🏾🙏🏾

They are. As are scientists, epidemiologists, researchers, etc, acting privately on their social media posts. You've pivoted away from the point OP is making. Which is: if people *can't afford* doc/sick days, good hand washing simply isn't gonna cut it.

You can’t blame this on news organizations, blame it on the greed of corporations who refuse to give their employees sick pay. Millions of ppl live pay ck to pay ck. Preventions won’t work as long as ppl have to go to work sick to pay their bills & feed their kids.
