Dear @RichardEngel: I agree we shouldn’t panic. But let me ask you this: would you go to work if a colleague had the coronavirus because there is only a 2% chance you will die? There are many things people would not do if there was a 2% chance they would die if they did it.https://twitter.com/RichardEngel/status/1232770729290035202 …

Don’t panic. Doctors/ virologists I’m speaking to say 98% of people will be fine, even if they get Covid-19. They expect it will go around the world, but that most people who get it will be a little sick, then recover. The danger is to vulnerable people. Hospitals/ old age homes.

No worries only roughly 6,000,000 Americans will die. About 2% of the population. The flu mortality rate is less than 1% in comparison. Or if everyone in the world gets it about 154,000,000 will die just 2% of the population. Take proper steps to avoid infection.

Well said, Eric. However ... The flu death rate is 0.1%. At 2%, the coronavirus death rate is 20 times that.

I had heard that the flu is .1 but did not want to say so without seeing it but I saw it is under 1 so that's what I put.

Technically, if you use the CDCs high estimates from 2010-2017, it's an average of .13% for the flu.
